LOCAL WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AREA 4 PLAN 2020-2024
Each Local Workforce Development Board in Virginia is required to develop and submit to the Governor a comprehensive four-year local plan in partnership with the appropriate Chief Elected Officials. The Local Workforce Development Area 4 Plan 2020-2024 includes a strategic action plan designed to develop, align, and integrate service delivery strategies and to support the State’s vision and strategic and operational goals for workforce development. The local plan aligns with the Virginia Combined State Plan which emphasizes the following areas to develop and enhance.
Local Plan Approval and Public Comment Process
The Local Workforce Development Area 4 Plan 2020-2024 was presented to the SVWDB Board of Directors and Chief Elected Officials Consortium at a joint meeting on Wednesday, February 3, 2021. The Board and Consortium approved the plan and the plan was released for public comment. Public comments on LWDA 4 Plan 2020-2024 were accepted through February 21, 2021. Comments received by the close of the public comment period were considered for inclusion in the plan. The plan was submitted to the state WIOA Title I Administrator on March 1, 2021. LWDA 4 Plan 2020-2024 was determined to meet the requirements for approval and forwarded to the Virginia Board of Workforce Development for final consideration.

LWDA 4 Plan 2020-2024 UPDATE
The LWDA 4 Plan 2020-2024 was submitted to the WIOA Title I Administrator and reviewed by a multidisciplinary state team. The plan met the requirements of WIOA and the Virginia Combined State Plan and was determined to be comprehensive and provide an accurate description of the local workforce system and quality services provided to customers in LWDA 4. We thank everyone that contributed to the development of the plan and look forward to implementing the plan objectives.
