YOU’VE BEEN LAID OFF…NOW WHAT?

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Dislocated Worker program provides services to help eligible individuals who have lost their job due to company closing or layoff find employment. If you have been laid off from your job, here are some steps you can take immediately:

File Your Unemployment

File your unemployment compensation claim—get help at a local Career Center.

Attend a Workforce Center Orientation

Attend a free Workforce Center orientation then discuss your eligibility for services such as training and certificate programs, Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act orientation and job readiness activities with a Workforce Center case manager.

Sign Up for Workshops and Classes

Sign up for classes and workshops at a Career Center that include topics such as resume writing, interviewing basics, networking and more. These are offered every month and are all free!
